Beginning in 2001 with our initial purchase of 3 charolais sires from the Price family's "Moongool" Charolais Stud and with a foundation breeding herd of carefully selected grey Brahman females as the cornerstone, added to that our leading commercial purebred red Brahman females, we mated approximately 160 hand picked females. To date we have purchased each year at the "Moongool" sale and have found that the progeny are exceptional in every way. All female progeny are sold off at 6-9 months of age. The carefully selected bull portion are offered year round as paddock sales to interested parties. Male progeny have been assessed on feed and have performed remarkably at around 2.4 kg/day. The temperament and beef qualities of these cattle have to be seen to be appreciated.
Due to the recent acquisition of "Telemon" in the Callide Valley we can now mate 350-400 pure bred Brahman females to Charolais sires. We also hope to be able to mate 40-50 F1 Charolais females and produce 3/4 Charolais bulls for the market. In all we plan to produce for sale each year about 100-120 Charolais cross bulls which will be available from August each year at 10-14 months of age. All resultant female progeny are available from May at 6-9 months of age.
